CVC environmental officer

Ed,

Valley Watch has been approached by various organisations and individuals about the need for Council to continue having a dedicated officer to support our valley’s precious biodiversity.

Valley Watch wholeheartedly endorses this call. Now is not the time to cut out the programs which help our threatened koalas, flying-foxes and emus. We believe these will be crucial programs in the year to come, as our forests regenerate following drought and fire, and with the impending opening of the Pacific motorway through their habitat.

It is critical for the survival of these species that recovery projects continue into the future. But some of the external funding for the dedicated project officer will disappear in six months time or sooner. Now is the time for Council to seek further funding for the position.
