Cultural Christmas fun!

What a wonderful way to end the year for the Clarence River U3A’s,  ‘A Little Bit of Culture Group’.

Our Christmas party at Brooms Head community hall was attended by 48 members and was full of fun and friendship. What a fantastic venue, right on the beach.

Thank you:

* to our amazing anonymous member for providing the funds to cover the purchase of ham, chickens, prawns, hire of hall, plates/cutlery/serviettes etc it was greatly appreciated and I am still overwhelmed by your wonderful generosity;

* to our members for providing cakes/slices etc for morning tea: the vast array of salads and desserts. All were absolutely delicious. What a gourmet meal we shared;

* to Shirley and Neil, Roz and Myra for helping set up and to all who helped in the kitchen throughout the day and helped clean up;

* to Neil and Roy for entertaining us;

* to Jan & Ian, who made our Secret Santa gift giving, so much fun,

* to Bev for picking up the chickens and ham.

Plus, a huge thank you to those who made a donation to the RFS. Thanks to you we raised $400.

It was a great pleasure for me to hand it over to Nick Clark, group officer for the Lower Clarence RFS, last Friday.

Nick asked me to convey his, and the brigades of Ashby, Woodford Island, Gulmarrad & Tucabia, sincere thanks for your donation.

Lastly I would like to thank my movie/lunch girls for your beautiful gifts. You all are so special to me and I really appreciate, enjoy and look forward to our weekly get togethers.

Thank you one and all for a wonderful year, I may be biased, but I think I am the luckiest group leader in CRU3A as I have the best and loveliest people in the whole of CRU3A in ‘A Little Bit of Culture’.
