Crowds show huge support for 2021 Grafton Show

Emma Pritchard

Three months ago, the Clarence Pastoral and Agricultural Society didn’t even know if the 2021 Grafton Show would go ahead.

Fortunately, the popular annual event made a triumphant return last week with large numbers of visitors passing through the gates at the Grafton Showground.

The Clarence Valley Independent asked some of them what they thought about the 2021 Grafton Show…

Daisy Weston: I liked it. It was the first time I’d been to the Grafton Show.  I liked seeing all the animals because I don’t get to see cows and chickens much because I live in a unit with my parents.

Uaia Lee: I had never been to the Grafton Show before. I thought it was very eventful, lots of colour and a good attraction to visit.

Vashanti Lee: It was my first visit to the Grafton Show this year. I wanted to go last year, but it was very upsetting when it had to be cancelled. I was happy I could go this year and see everything like the displays and the rides.

Berina Cirracri: I liked seeing the show jumping because I love horses.

Amanda Johnstone: The kids liked getting their showbags and I liked having the opportunity to view all the arts and crafts on display in the pavilion. I saw some really lovely floral arrangements.

Jackie Bower: My favourite part was seeing all of the fruit and vegetables in the barn because I have my own veggie patch at home on my farm.

Georjiah Jackson: It was just really cool to have the Grafton Show happen again because a lot of people missed it last year. It was just good to have it back.

Werratt Cole: I’m from Sydney and my favourite part of the Grafton Show was seeing all the animals in the grand parade.
