Crowds observe Remembrance Day

Lynne Mowbray Remembrance Day services were held on Saturday around the valley, to commemorate the 99th anniversary of the end of World War 1. A small crowd braved the showers to gather at the Yamba Cenotaph for the Remembrance Day service, at 10.45am. Meanwhile down in the CBD of Yamba, the Yamba Hot Rod event came to a standstill, as the Last Post was played over the loud speaker. At 11am an eerie silence fell over the huge crowd that was attending the event, as a minutes silence was observed.
