Croquet at the Yamba Bowlo

Players last Wednesday September 22 found many a good looking shot end up way off the mark as we battled with strong gusts of wind and players still had a fun morning as we took up the challenge.

Beryl won the Sheriff’s badge but missed her pinning due to Mal taking the privilege in quick succession. A warm welcome to Bev, this being her first game of croquet and all reports were Bev played very well.

First two games were draw for partners and played to a time schedule, followed by choosing your partner for the last game.

Ray/Fay, Gail/Toni, Russell/Dave, June/Chris tied with Margaret/John, Mal/Bev, Sue/Meg tied with Oliver/Janis,  Margaret/Ray, Fay/Gail, Bev/Graham, Sue G/Andrew, Mal/Meg, Bev/Leigh, Susie/Sue G, Beryl/Margaret.

“Hit the Rainbow Pin” was trialled at the end of the morning’s play. Players had one shot each and the winner was Genny. Her hit never looked like missing the peg. Well done Genny.

New members are welcome. Don’t forget to wear flat soled shoes to protect our greens. Turn up at 8am for a 8:30 start till 11 on Wednesday mornings.
