The Clarence River District WBA held its annual meeting at the Grafton District Services club on Monday August 21 with delegates from the seven clubs attending. District president Alma Bowling welcomed everyone and invited them to morning tea after which president Alma thanked her committee and the various club presidents for their support throughout her first year as president saying it was greatly appreciated. Vice presidents Jeannette Axon and Carolyn Newman then presented outgoing president Alma; secretary Lorraine, treasurer Gwen Ryan and match committee Helen Scott with gifts in appreciation for their hard work throughout the year. Secretary Lorraine Demmery also thanked the committee and club delegates for their help and support throughout the year as it made her job so much easier. Red Rock delegate Jan Murray then took the chair for the election of office bearers who were all elected unopposed as follows: President – Alma Bowling (Grafton District Services); vice presidents – Jeannette Axon (South Grafton) and Carolyn Newman (Red Rock Corindi); secretary – Lorraine Demmery (Grafton District Services); treasurer – Gwen Ryan (South Grafton); chairperson of match committee – Helen Scott (Yamba); match committee – Maureen Grimes (Maclean), Lynette Olsson (Yamba), Pam McMullen (Iluka), Noelle Graham (South Grafton); communications officer – Shirley Woodward (appointed by the management committee). 2017 -2018 club delegates to the CRDWBA: Grafton District Services – Ann James; Iluka – Lynne Millard; Maclean – Lee McKay; Red Rock Corindi – Jan Murray; South Grafton – Helen Nickless; Wooli – Jan Weeks; Yamba – Wendy Ballantyne.
