Coutts Crossing win at Woolgoolga

With the continuing wet conditions and no wind or sun to mop up our lawns, the GC team went down to Woolgoolga for their Pennants match.

In Div 2 Pamela Gauci and Ken Davison gave us a good start with a strait sets win. We then needed one of the two singles. It was nail biting stuff. In the best of three games Wayne Gadke lost the third 7-6, but Phil Jordan held his nerve to win his match, again in the deciding game, 7-6. The narrowest of wins for the team.

In the Div 3 match Tom Brayshaw and Paul Scofield won two games to one, but Sheila Foley and Helyn Davison were both disappointed to lose.

Paul Schofield reduced his handicap to 11. He has not yet lost a competitive match since starting to play croquet.

The lawns are so close to being ready again, and are running better than ever.

If the rain eases off we will be playing seven days a week again very soon.
