Coutts Crossing croquet is back!

Lockdown over and the members are celebrating the return to the lawns.

It started on Saturday with Robyn Walters and a long hoop to hoop. Peter Martin showed how much he had been exercising with three big wins, including the final match, a 7-5 win over inform Keith Brodie. Marilyn Wilson went one better with four wins in a row, while Lola McPhee had her usual two victories and rested. The lawns were fast, the sun hot, an excellent restart to our season.

The AC players were all off form Sunday, some awful shots being played. In the end Peter Deeth beat Simon Cook 16-14 and Peter Martin overcame Sue deeth 15-12.

The club AGM will be held Monday September 20 at 10am at the clubhouse. There are seven nominations for the seven positions vacant, so it may be a quick meeting.

For those people who during lockdown thought a new interest, new friends and a new sport would be good for them, now is the time for croquet. Call 0438 999 204 for details.
