Coutts Crossing croquet

The Coutts Crossing AC champion for 2022 is Peter Martin. He won two thrilling games in the final against Simon Cook 17-16 and 21-20, coming from behind in both games after being in arrears at the bell.

The week started well with four new players for GC, all of whom had great fun and enjoyed themselves. Lynne Page and Trish Margan picked up the techniques quickly, as did Karen Cookson, but it was Vicki Eggins who excelled, running long hoops, and gathering applause consistently, amazing for a first timer.

Ricochet had a full house last Tuesday week. Louise Lowe played her best croquet for some months with fine wins over Debbie MacIntosh and Rusty Case. Wayne Gadke had two victories while Rusty Case squeezed home with a golden hoop against a rapidly improving Marilyn Richmond. Lynne Moulds finished the day with a win and almost her first peg out.

Simon Cook ended the week in top form. In a three handed AC work out, he had two 13 hoop turns, and a big smile.

There will be a “come and try” day at the club on Saturday February 19, from 9am onwards. Try out this addictive sport. Call 0438 999 204 for details.
