Community Strategic Plan consultation extended

Clarence Valley Council (CVC) is reviewing its Community Strategic Plan (CSP) and has extended its consultation with the community to September 17.

Senior staff previously conducted face-to-face consultations at Yamba, Grafton and Maclean in May and June.

The CSP sets out CVC’s “10-year vision and guides council projects and decisions for years to come”.

“It reflects our aspirations and sets the broad parameters that guide decision making,” CVC’s survey webpage states.

“From council’s perspective, all decisions should be consistent with the direction set out in the plan.”

People are invited to participate in an online survey at clarenceconversations.com.au/csp-2021-2025.

Significantly, the survey begins with four qualitative questions, which invite participants to write 500-words or less answers to the following questions:

  • What kind of community do you want to live in?
  • Why is that important to you?
  • What are some of the things that need to happen to create change?
  • How is that community different from what happens now?
