Community Fun Day Sunday

Ed,

You’ve all seen the devastation of drought. How can you help? Come to our ‘About For Drought’ fundraiser this Sunday October 14 at the Grafton Racecourse. All proceeds go to Aussie Helpers charity.

About For Drought started as an idea for a raffle with a local junior soccer club and morphed into a massive fundraiser.  Markets, community stalls, food vans, stage performances, free kids’ activities, lucky door prizes, sausage sizzle, raffle, not to mention an auction. You can even join in a rain dance!

You’ll have the opportunity to write a ‘Note For Hope’ to a farmer family, letting them know they are not forgotten and that our community appreciates all that they do for us. These personal notes will be packed in hampers delivered by Aussie Helpers.

The wider community has been extremely generous. We have received prize donations from local small businesses and community groups to government departments and nationwide corporations.

The level of understanding and kind support has been outstanding. It just goes to show how much people truly care about our farmers in the grip of this devastating drought.

Entry to the Community Fun Day on Sunday October 14 is a gold coin donation and the event runs from 10am to 3pm. BYO picnic rug and chairs.

We look forward to sharing this memorable day with you.
