Have you wondered what VIEW stands for? It stands for Voice, Interests, & Education of Women. It provides a place for women of all ages to connect with community, enjoy social activities and develop lasting friendships; all the while supporting disadvantaged children through the Learning for Life Program.
Now, that is a good reason to come along and be part of this vibrant and dedicated community, to make a difference in the lives of others. “But” you say, “What do I have to do?”
The answer is, “Just turn up and enjoy a delicious meal, and an inspiring guest speaker.” That will make such a wonderful day!
The guest speaker for the March monthly meeting was Kylie Curry, a senior therapy consultant with Niagra. Kylie gave a very informative talk about Niagra therapy; a medically proven therapy, which has many benefits for the human body. She said that most age-related health ailments are preventable when managed with good circulation and better mobility. Kylie’s power point presentation displayed aids for this with pads, cushions, vibrating beds and massages. Clinical trials have been carried out with Professor Pierre Lievens at Brussels University, Belgium, showing that Niagra’s Cycloid Vibration Therapy improved joint mobility. A very interesting talk!
The guest speaker for April will be Lyn Hayman from the Grafton Floral Art Society; her motto, “Friendship with Flowers.”
The raffle was won by Joy Ford, and the lucky door prize went to Kay Lawson. Following this, Aurora, from the GDSC was awarded a certificate of thanks with a gift for efficient handling of the annual VIEW Birthday celebration for 2024. The trading table for March proved very successful.
During the meeting, Helen Cashel read an interesting letter from a VIEW Club member in WA talking about her time as a member of VIEW. The letter is published in the VIEW magazine, and on the website for all to read.
The next social outing will be on Wednesday April 9 at 10am for a morning tea at the Hillside café, Junction Hill.
The April monthly meeting will be held on Tuesday April 22, commencing at 10.30am at the Grafton District Services Club, Mary Street, Grafton. All are welcome to come along and bring your friends. This way you will support the children sponsored in the Learning for Life Program, throughout their entire education.
For catering purposes, please phone Helen (Secretary) on 6642 3867, no later than the Friday before the meeting.
See you there!
