Come and join the active and outrageous seniors’ fun day

Active and outrageous seniors are encouraged to join in a day of fun in Grafton on April 9. Groups such as seniors’ sports, education, social and activity clubs are to assemble at Memorial Park where they are invited to have their face painted, wear an outrageous hat or outfit. From 9.30am participants are to walk along the footpaths of Prince St to Market Square to join in the fun and activities. The event coincides with Youth Week and seniors are requested to bring their 12 to 25-year-old grandchildren/great-grandchildren to join the walk and activities. Personal trainer for the active and outrageous, septuagenarian Mavis Hardbottom, is to emcee the event. “I am looking forward to getting down and getting back up again with the lovely people of the Clarence Valley,” she said. “We are going to dust off our dancing shoes, shake our groove things, blow the cobwebs out and wake up all our chakras. “Age is like the expiry date on your food packaging … it’s there as a guide, but shouldn’t be taken too seriously.” Registrations for walkers, stallholders and entertainment providers will be taken until March 16, so get your friends and club members together and have a group outing in Grafton. Registration forms can be obtained from Heather Lamberton on 6645 0001 or heather.lamberton@clarence.nsw.gov.au
