ClubsNSW welcomes rolling back of COVID-19 restrictions

ClubsNSW welcomes the announcement from the state government regarding the further easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

The extension of the one person per two square metre rule to all hospitality venues will allow clubs to increase the number of working hours available to staff. It will also provide club members and patrons with more flexibility when it comes to celebrating with their friends and families at registered clubs over the Christmas period. The removal of maximum capacity caps for large venues and the relaxation of restrictions surrounding live music and entertainment are also greatly appreciated.

“The state’s 1,200 registered clubs have an outstanding record when it comes to COVID safety compliance and our industry has demonstrated that we can be trusted to do the right thing,” said ClubsNSW CEO Josh Landis. “The announcement from the government is very pleasing and will give registered clubs a much-needed boost, particularly with Christmas just around the corner,” Mr Landis said. “Clubs have long been at the hub of the live music scene in NSW, so the easing of restrictions around entertainment is particularly exciting news.”
