‘Clean Up Australia (Iluka)

Everything is in readiness for Iluka’s clean up campaign this coming Sunday March 7. This year all participants will be given a pair of gloves to keep (come in handy around the garden).

Also, the collection bags are even more disposable given they are made of a starch-based compound. Council staff will pick up the bags the next day.

As usual we will concentrate on the road into town where litter often falls out of utes etc. If you have a preferred site to work on, we can fit in with that option. Great to see the local primary school kids getting involved as well.

Also, we have a new ‘sponsor’ in the shape of yet another coffee outlet in town. The van situated outside the golf club entrance trading as ‘Little Local Café’ has offered to provide all participants with a free coffee and Anzac biscuit as a little reward for their efforts. Thanks Sandy.

Iluka is indeed a tidy town in its own way because the many walkers along the foreshore are often seen picking up plastic and the odd bottle from revellers. So too are the many dog owners who generally keep the pathways clean from droppings.

Your presence and support would be appreciated. Assemble at the skatepark at 8am and then after your free coffee you can go to the markets and you will feel great.
