Clean sweep at the annual touch football competition

On Monday afternoon and evening Maclean High students travelled to Yamba Sporting Complex to contest the annual competition for touch football. This is one of the few competitions that are held down river and there was a buzz from the students on the short bus trip to Yamba. Six out of the seven Lower Clarence schools competed in four divisions and from the start Maclean High were keen to show their dominance on the field. Each team played four or five games each and by the end of the evening we had not lost a game in any of the four divisions. Congratulations to all team members for your excellent display of talent and sportsmanship and the bringing home of the junior boys and girls, and senior boys and girls trophies. What an awesome effort by all. Thank you also to the parents and supporters who cheered on the sidelines and lastly to the awesome PE teachers – Ms Bowley, Mr Obst and Mr Whiteside who gave up their afternoons to coach/manage the teams. Go Maclean High! Mrs Kylie Lowe
