Clarence Valley Ramblers – Cangai Camp

There were 19 people in 10 vehicles in attendance. Most arrived on Thursday or before to enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

We enjoyed a campfire each night but unfortunately couldn’t see the stars for the clouds.

Friday afternoon saw the beginning of the “official” activities with a game of disc bowls played between showers of rain. Yvonne, Terry and Ed were the winners with some amazing shots. Don B. provided great umpiring hidden under his umbrella.

Saturday’s weird and wacky trivia was won by Terry and Don.

Everyone enjoyed collecting rocks and creating very original artwork.

Anna’s frypan with two fried eggs was voted the best, with Dawn’s rat coming a close 2nd.

June and Marjorie did an amazing job once again buying and displaying a great variety of raffle prizes. Anna and Ray cleaned up here. It was lovely to see them both back after a long break.

Ray won the fishing competition with a picture of the only fish caught, although Ken was awarded a prize for the scar on his thumb caused by a large cod which was given its freedom when it bit him!

Sunday morning dawned sunny and bright with Marilyn and Terry setting up their café style breakfast far too late for most of the crew.

Our next meeting is at Nana Glen in December for Christmas.
