Due to public liability insurance concerns, ‘Caravan and Camping’ will no longer be an official CRU3a group. ‘Joy of Gardening’ visited an amazing garden at The Pocket on Sunday 21, Kathleen’s acre featured mostly drought tolerant, Eastern and Southern African plants, many of which have bizarre shapes, spines and stunning flowers. Delicious goodies for morning tea, the necessary buying spree, after lunch, a quiz in the garden topped off with pots of mini greens from a hydroponic nursery as prizes. Thanks to Kathleen, True and Bob and Dennis our RSL bus driver. Next stop was a wholesale bromeliad nursery, more plants and a short stop at Mullumbimby. Our monthly meeting is this Friday, 9am at Treelands Drive community centre, guest speaker is Ken Woods, flower of month is a camellia. ‘Meditation’ with Robyn Adams commences at Yamba Uniting Church in Angourie Road, 10-11.30 on Monday July 6. ‘Shed Sheilas’ at Iluka Men’s Shed, Hebel, Men’s and Women’s sheds, Leadlighting, Gardening, Trivia, Rummykub and Mah-jong are all still open to new members. Interested in activities not in Clarion? Talk to a committee member, they’re keen to assist setting up new groups. There are still a few seats left for the matinee of Les Miserables at QPAC on Saturday November 21, travelling with Wards, $180 includes travel, ticket, MT, free raffle.
