Clarence Regional Library to honour local service men and women in upcoming exhibition

Clarence Valley residents are being invited to participate in a local project through the Clarence Regional Library in Grafton.

‘Your Library, Your History – Service Men and Women of the Clarence Valley’ is an initiative aimed at honouring, showcasing, and sharing the many stories and contributions made by local military personnel through a captivating and historically engaging exhibition.

With the theme of ‘then and now’ the exhibition will include a variety of historical photos alongside new professional portraits with text plates outlining the background information of participants, their service records, and personal ventures.

Along with celebrating the regions proud military history and service men and women, the exhibition is also aimed an educating and informing the Clarence Valley community about the selfless sacrifices and lives of local veterans and their families.

Anyone interested in participating in ‘Your Library, Your History – Service Men and Women of the Clarence Valley’ is invited to contact Kathryn Breward at Kathryn.breward@clarence.nsw.gov.au or on 6641 0112.

All local service men and woman are encouraged to be part of this special tribute.

Participants are asked to provide a photo of them from their active-duty days and to share a personal story about their service and experience.

Additional professional portraits will be taken to capture their present image.

By participating, Clarence Valley residents will play an integral role in bringing local history to life while fostering a greater understanding and appreciation within the local community.

Expressions of interest close on August 5.

‘Your Library, Your History – Service Men and Women of the Clarence Valley’ will be open from October 21 until November 18.
