Clarence 13s is gunner be interesting

In one of the more intriguing battles of the Clarence competition, it could just be Gunners at 20 paces in the decider.

In the 13s division, South Services have two teams going around – and they are currently running first and second.

South Services Gunners secretary Mel Martin said the Hurricanes won the premiership as 12s last year, and had picked up where they’d left off.

“They’ve managed to keep the same group together which has been good,” Mel said.

Hot on the heels of the Hurricanes are the South Services Tsunami.

“They are a combination of two teams put together and they’ve been doing really well,” Mel said.

The Hurricanes are leading the 13s competition and the prospect of an all-South Services decider is lip-smacking.

“That could be interesting,” Mel laughed.

Overall, season 2021 has been a good year for the club.

“It’s certainly been a lot better than last year and our numbers are up. Everything has been in place this year and that’s made it a bit more cruisey,” Mel said.
