Christmas with Iluka Vets golfers

December 17 was the annual Iluka Veterans Presentation day and Christmas luncheon.

So, serious golf took a backseat to the normal competitive spirit and instead fostering a day of end of season frivolity and Christmas spirit.

Today’s event was a 4BBB Stableford won by a team of likely winners, George Schymko, John Williams, Phil Blackwell and Danny Mortison, some very serious golfers indeed.

Club Champion and winner of the Veterans Club Champion shirt was John Williams with a very consistent run of performances throughout the year.

Jack Urquhart, Medal of Medals winner collecting his Vets Club golf shirt.

Neil Grady, winner of the Most Improved Division 1, received a $25 voucher from the NRGA.

The Christmas luncheon was well attended and consisted of hams carved by Vets treasurer, Jeoffery Turner, chicken and salads prepared by our ladies who volunteered their services on the day.

It was a great way to end the season and start the Christmas cheer and look forward to a bright and prosperous 2020. A great way to leave all the angst suffered on the course behind us and look forward to a bright future.
