CHESS Connect at ‘Close the Gap Day’

CHESS Connect staff members participated in the Clarence Valley Close the Gap Day in Wherett Park, Maclean on Thursday.

There was a great turn out on the day with schools from all over the Clarence Valley present as well as locals keen to get a signature and a selfie with NRL star Cody Walker. CHESS representatives shared information with the community regarding our many services including; Disability Employment Support, Smart Skilled and Hired, PHaMs, PiR as well as the NDIS.

The winner of our guessing game went to a lucky Maclean Primary School student who won with the closest number of beans guessed – 659, he received his prize at school that afternoon; a Giant Jar of 672 Jellybeans!

A great day was had by all creating awareness of the Close the Gap program and connecting with services available in the local area.
