Across the Clarence Valley, families and friends came together to celebrate Father’s Day on September 1.
While many lucky dads, grandads, great-grandads, and guardians, enjoyed a delicious homecooked breakfast in bed before spending the morning opening their presents (socks, undies, and shaving kits were once again the most popular selections this year), others were generously treated to lunch and a few coldies at their local pub.
One of the most frequented destinations in the Clarence Valley, the Rest Point Hotel in Copmanhurst welcomed a large crowd of diners on the weekend.
Among them were several gents who told the Clarence Valley Independent there was no better place to spend Father’s Day.
“It’s always Father’s Day when I come here,” said Todd Hutchinson.
“This time I just used the date as a good excuse for my kids to shout me a good feed and a few beers.
“Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there.”
