Changed traffic conditions on Summerland Way north of Grafton

Roads and Maritime Services advises motorists changed traffic conditions came into place last Wednesday (May 4) at Two Mile Creek on Summerland Way about 70 kilometres north of Grafton. The NSW Government is funding this $450,000 essential maintenance to improve the road surface and provide a safer and smoother journey for road users. Richmond Valley Council will carry out the work on behalf of Roads and Maritime, with an expected completion date of 9 June, weather permitting. Work hours will take place from 7am to 6pm, Monday to Friday and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. The work will involve removing the existing road pavement, placing and compacting new road base materials and applying sprayed bitumen surfacing. There will be some temporary traffic changes to ensure the work zone is safe. Traffic will be reduced to one lane on Summerland Way 24 hours a day. Traffic control will be in place to guide motorists safely through the worksite. Motorists are advised to plan their journey, allow extra travel time and follow all signs. Roads and Maritime thanks the community for its patience while this important work is carried out.
