Changed traffic conditions on Pacific Motorway north of Ballina

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions from next week on the Pacific Motorway to carry out maintenance work about two kilometres north of Ballina.

The southbound lanes of the Emigrant Creek north bridge will be closed from Tuesday 4 May with all traffic diverted onto the northbound carriageway under 24 hour traffic control for 1.4 kilometres. Northbound traffic will be restricted to one lane while the diversion is in place for southbound traffic.

This maintenance work will improve the road surface, provide better safety for motorists and ensure the bridge remains in good condition. Work will be carried out from 7am to 6pm on weekdays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays, and is expected to be complete in three weeks, weather permitting.

Traffic control and a reduced speed limit will be in place for the safety of workers and motorists. Speed and lane restrictions will remain outside working hours to ensure motorist safety. Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
