Changed traffic conditions on Big River Way at South Grafton

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions this weekend on Big River Way in South Grafton as part of work on the new Grafton bridge project.

To reduce impact to motorists, some of the work to complete the roundabout at intersection of Big River Way and the Gwydir Highway (Charles Street) will be carried out at night.

Work will be carried out during the day on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July to remove the existing road surface in the southbound carriageway of Big River Way outside Hungry Jack’s and Caltex service station.

Work to place new asphalt in the southbound carriageway will be carried out over two nights between 6pm and 6am on Saturday 25 and Sunday 26 July, weather permitting, with intermittent traffic stops and a shift of traffic lanes.

Access to the Caltex service station will be changed from 12pm on Sunday 26 July until 4am on Monday.

Motorists wishing to access the service station are advised to follow traffic signs and directions of traffic controllers.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions, and follow the directions of signs and traffic control.
