Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions and night work on the Pacific Highway from Monday 31 August to Sunday 6 September for the Woolgoolga to Ballina upgrade, weather permitting.
From Monday, there will be up to five nights and seven days of work between Woodburn and New Italy to carry out earthwork, paving, drainage work, installing traffic safety barriers and sign posts and to allow access to site. Motorists can expect traffic control, reduced speed limits and short stoppages at times between 6pm and 6am and 6am and 6pm.
Also from Monday, there will be six days of work on the Pacific Highway at Chatsworth Island to carry out asphalting. Motorists can expect traffic control, lane closures and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm.
Further south from Monday, there will be up to seven days of work on the Pacific Highway between Glenugie and Maclean to carry out landscape maintenance, signage installation, survey work and asphalting at the Maclean interchange. Motorists can expect lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit between 6am and 6pm.
There will be five days of work on Big River Way at Glenugie and Tyndale to carry out landscaping from Monday. Motorists can expect lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h between 7am and 6pm.
From Tuesday, there will be two nights and two days of work on the Pacific Highway at Coolgardie and the intersection of the Pacific Highway and Kays Road at Coolgardie to carry out earthwork and line marking. Motorists can expect a reduced speed limit between 7am and 5pm and 6pm and 6am.
On Sunday between 7am and 6pm the northbound off ramp at the Yamba interchange will be closed to carry out asphalting. Access to Yamba for light vehicles will be via the Maclean interchange. Heavy vehicles will detour via the Chatsworth Road south overpass bridge and Yamba interchange southbound off ramp.
Additional changes to local roads
From Monday, there will be five nights and up to seven days of work on Minyumai Road, Nardi Road and Red Gate Road at New Italy and Tuckombil Road, Trustums Hill Road and Wondawee Way at Woodburn to carry out earthwork, paving, fencing drainage and to allow access to site. Motorists can expect lanes closures, traffic control and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm and 6pm and 6am.
Also from Monday, there will be six days of work at intersections at Big River Way, on Norleys Lane at Gulmarrad and Maclean, and the western roundabout of the Maclean interchange, to carry out line marking, earthwork and to install signage. Motorists can expect lane closures, traffic control, a reduced speed limit and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm.
There will be short stoppages on Iluka Road at Woombah and Garretts Lane and Banana Road at Mororo for up to five days from Monday to allow access to site and to carry out drainage, maintenance and asphalting. Motorists can expect traffic control, lane closures and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm.
From Tuesday, there will be two days of work on Kays Road at Coolgardie to carry out earthwork. Motorists can expect traffic control and short stoppages at times between 7am and 5pm.
On Thursday, there will be one night and six days of work on Broadwater-Evans Head Road at Broadwater to carry out landscaping and bridge maintenance work. Motorists can expect lane closures and traffic control between 6am and 6pm and 6pm and 6am.
Traffic control will be in place on Bensons Lane at Tyndale and McIntyres Lane at Gulmarrad to allow heavy vehicles to access site from Monday. Motorists can expect short stoppages at times.
