Changed traffic conditions and night work for Woolgoolga to Ballina upgrade

Motorists are advised of changed traffic conditions and night work on the Pacific Highway from Monday 1 to Sunday 7 June for the Woolgoolga to Ballina upgrade, weather permitting.

There will be no roadwork on the Pacific Highway between Kew and the Queensland border from 6am Friday 5 June to 6am Tuesday 9 June due to high traffic volumes expected for the long weekend. Emergency maintenance and safety repair work will be carried out as required.

From Monday, there will be four days of work next to the Pacific Highway at Broadwater to remove a ramp under the new bridge over the Richmond River and carry out earthwork. Motorists can expect lane closures, traffic control and short stoppages at times between 7am and 5pm.

Also from Monday, there will be four days of work on the Pacific Highway between Woodburn and New Italy to carry out earthwork, paving, drainage work, line marking, landscaping and installation of fauna connectivity structures. Motorists can expect traffic control, reduced speed limits and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm.

From Monday, there will be up to three nights and four days of work on the Pacific Highway between Devils Pulpit and Mororo to carry out line marking, asphalting, signage repair work and drainage installation. Motorists can expect traffic control and short stoppages at times while this work is carried out.

Further south from Monday, there will be four days of work next to the Pacific Highway between Maclean and Glenugie to carry out landscape maintenance, drainage work, survey work and install signage. Motorists can expect a reduced speed limit of 40km/h at times between 7am and 6pm.

Traffic control will be in place at the northbound off ramp at the Tyndale interchange and Benson’s Lane at Tyndale to allow heavy vehicles to access site from Monday. Motorists can expect a reduced speed limit of 40km/h and short stoppages at times.

From Tuesday 2 June, there will be four days of work on Big River Way at Tyndale to remove traffic barriers and carry out asphalting and line marking. Motorists can expect a lane closures, traffic control and a reduced speed limit of 40km/h between 7am and 6pm.

On Wednesday 3 June, there will be one night of work on the Pacific Highway at Mororo to prepare for the closure of Lewis Lane and Banana Road and opening of the new Iluka interchange overpass bridge. A temporary detour via the new Iluka Road overpass bridge, will be in place for about one week.

Additional changes to local roads

Traffic control will be in place on Jubilee Street, Townsend and Cameron Street, Maclean for up to six days from Monday to allow access to site and to carry out earthwork, asphalting, line marking and install drainage, from Monday. Motorists can expect lane closures, a reduced speed limit of 40km/h and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm.

Also from Monday, there will be up to five days of work at the Yamba interchange to carry out paving. Motorists can expect traffic control and short stoppages at times between 6am and 6pm.

On Thursday 4 June, there will be one day of work on Ryans Lane at Chatsworth Island to carry out line marking. Motorists can expect lane closures and traffic control between 6am and 6pm.

The old Mororo Bridge is temporarily closed while drainage is installed.

Motorists are advised to drive to the conditions and follow the direction of signs and traffic control.
