Cedar and Steam exhibition

Glenreagh Museum’s annual art and photo exhibition, CEDAR AND STEAM, will be held on Friday 29th and Saturday 30th March in the local Hall.

Over 300 entries have been received from six of the primary schools in the Orara Valley. Their colourful entries depict significant, historical structures in the area as well as further abroad.

After the wanton destruction of Glenreagh’s Catholic Church last year, the Museum wanted to have our irreplaceable history recognized, recorded and respected. The school children have led the way and the adults have followed suit with amazing photographs and paintings.

The Sherwood School students turned Bangalow palm sheaths into creative sculptures:  From whale sharks to dolphins, guitars and carriers.  Lennox created a cape adorned with an eagle and topped with a feather decorated mask. The student’s ingenuity knew no bounds!

Come and enjoy an artistic feast, support our little village, discover the beauty of the hinterland and receive a warm country welcome.
