Carer resilience workshops
Mission Australia together with Social Futures is holding a workshop aimed at assisting carers of people with disabilities.
The Carer Resilience Workshops will be held in the Yamba Public School hall on Thursday September 7 and Thursday September 21, from 9.45am.
Social Futures project officer Heather Tannock encouraged anyone who works as a carer to come along and take part in this free workshop which will run over the two days.
“There have been a lot of changes [for carers] and it can be a bit overwhelming,” Ms Tannock said.
“Hopefully we can give carers some strategies to assist them in their role as a carer.”
MS Tannock stressed the importance of attending the workshop on both days, if possible and encouraged those attending to register to assist them with catering.
This is an excellent opportunity for both parents and carers of someone with a disability.
