Car Club drive to ostrich and emu farm

Sunday May 16 was our monthly Club run.

Long-standing members Ian and Glenys Gardam have a 35-acre farm at Tullymorgan where they breed ostrich, emu, and alpacas. They are well set up to host large groups, so off we went.

We had a great roll-up at our Club grounds, Jabour Park, South Grafton to start the journey. A planned morning tea stop at Harwood boat ramp picnic area allowed members from down river (Maclean, Iluka, and Yamba) to join us. It was such a lovely sun shiny day by the river, we could have settled in for the day.

However, Glenys and Ian were preparing a two-course feast for all fifty of us. Ian spoke a little about farming ostrich and emu. It was then time to tour the sheds housing a varied collection of transport machines, from Penny Farthing bikes to vintage cars and bikes.

Lunch was a sumptuous BBQ feed followed by lashings of desert. All in all, a great day driving on the open roads in our Clarence valley.
