The CANDO Cancer Trust is holding their first annual charity swim to support local patients and families affected by cancer and attending the North Coast Cancer Institute.
Organisers are calling on community groups, business houses, schools and sporting groups as well as individuals to get involved in this great cause.
The Rottnest Channel Swim will be held at the Grafton Olympic Pool from 9am on Saturday 30 March and organisers are looking for keen participants to form teams of four to swim a relay for 30 minutes.
The continuous relay of 394 laps of the main Olympic pool will cover a distance of 19.7 kilometres – which is equivalent to swimming the Rottnest Channel Swim.
There are great prizes and trophies and every participant receives a T shirt and an official Rottnest Channel Swim cap. There will be raffles held throughout the day, with a BBQ and fun activities.
Cost is $250 per team and all proceeds go to helping Grafton patients struggling with cancer.
