A maroon Holden Commodore station wagon that was left wrapped in police and NSW Fire and Rescue tape on Yamba Road last Friday was allegedly doing burnouts before losing control.
Locals told the CV Independent the station wagon was seen doing burnouts along Angourie Road and in the Yamba Business Park area before taking off at speed along Yamba Road toward the west.
It was reported that the driver of the Commodore wagon lost control when hitting a traffic island before it came to rest facing in the opposite direction to which it was travelling, on the other side of Yamba Road.
A NSW Police spokesman said police attended the scene and breath tested the driver, who returned a negative blood alcohol content, with a fine to be issued regarding his manner of driving.
