The B Grade singles semi-finals were played in nearly perfect conditions, with a good crowd of spectators on hand to see Scott Swain draw away from Neil Beddow to win 31-17 in a close game, despite the score at the end.

The other game between Greg Turner and Paul Youlten was a see-sawing event with plenty of last bowl draw shots to keep both players on their toes. Greg was heard to say he didn’t want to break tradition in letting Paul win B Grade singles – and it worked. Again, the score of 31-19 didn’t show the closeness of this match.

The final should be a beauty to observe.
