Acting on a tip-off that alleged the new Harwood and Mororo bridges were sinking, the Independent asked the Roads and Maritime Services for comment.
The RMS’s media section provided the following response: “Please attribute to a Transport for NSW spokesperson.
“Transport for NSW has noted slight movement in the southern abutment of the new bridge over the Clarence River at Mororo, but the bridge is not sinking.
“The new bridge over the Clarence River at Harwood is not sinking.
“Transport for NSW will continue to monitor the sites during construction.
“The [highway] upgrade is still on track to open in 2020.”
