Brett Rankin wins Ray White Yamba Pro Am

A marvellous first round of 9 under par laid the foundation for Brett Rankin to again win the Yamba Pro Am. He finished 12 under par to win by four shots from David Bransdon and Deyen Lawson who were both 8 under.

The course was in excellent condition as was evident from the scores, with 16 Pros’ finishing the 36-hole event under par.

There was a Stableford event held each day for the amateur contingent. On Saturday Phil McDougall carded an astonishing 46 points to head the leader board. He was followed by Geoff Flett (40), Anthony Mee (Maclean) 39 c/b, Garry O’Connell 39, Tony Burley 38 c/b, David Robertson (Thurgoona) 38 c/b, Andre Rizk 38.

Sunday saw the scores lessen with the first five place getters all carding 38 points. After countback the finishing order was Anthony Bevan (Maclean), Noah Adey (Iluka), Bruce Lulham, Stephen Killingbeck (Coolangatta Tweed), Graham Niland; 6th place went to Reilly Wunderlich on a countback from Jan Dampney when both scored 37 points.

NTP’s on Sunday were 3rd Reilly Wunderlich, 9th Mark Liddicoat, 10th Mark Feigl, 12th Noah Adey and 17th Terry Winser. The Pro Long Drive was won by Patrick Joseph.
