While the bus may not be able to be boarded for a while, BreastScreen NSW is encouraging women to remain breast aware, and to seek medical attention if they have any concerns or notice any changes.

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak in the state, BreastScreen NSW announced they are temporarily suspending all routine breast screening services in NSW. A spokesperson for BreastScreen NSW said the decision had been made in response to the risk imposed by the highly contagious Delta variant, and the need to redeploy staff to support the pandemic response in each local health district. While the spokesperson acknowledged the difficult times being faced by many, they are urging women to remain alert, and to make an appointment with their trusted healthcare professional if they require urgent attention.

Women who have recently had appointments cancelled, will be contacted by BreastScreen NSW to reschedule appointments when services recommence. Women who have recently attended appointments or had a screen will be notified of their results. The spokesperson also said women who had been called back for additional tests will still be able to attend their follow up appointments.
