Baryulgil Primary celebrate centenary
The shelves are being dusted off, the walls have a new coat of paint and the lawns are now manicured all in time for the Baryulgil Public School to start celebrating their centenary this month.
School principal Gary Barton said “we may be a small school but we have always had a big heart and you will see evidence of that as the school marks its centenary milestone next month.
Our organising committee has been fantastic with their ideas, commitment and enthusiasm and they have planned an action packed day.
We have many former students and teachers returning with one of them having written a history book of the school which will be launched on the day.
Our school is more than just books and blackboards, it’s a community hub and we plan to celebrate our centenary day with all of our community,” Mr Barton said.
The celebration starts at 10am on Saturday August 19 with a number of special guests and community groups who have agreed to come and support the school on the day.
The school is expecting around 300 people.
