Australian Bureau of Statistics job map

The Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) today released an interactive map examining the percentage change in payroll jobs between the week ending 14 March (the week Australia recorded its 100th confirmed COVID-19 case) and the week ending 18 April 2020.

The map is at the Statistical Area Level 4 (SA4) of a jobholder’s residence.  SA4 is a geographical area measuring labour markets, typically with a population of 100,000 people or more. The map provides indicative information on the economic impacts of COVID-19, based on recent Weekly Payroll Jobs and Wages in Australia (cat. no. 6160.0.55.001) estimates.

This map is part of a range of products being produced by the ABS to measure the social and economic impacts of COVID-19.

An updated schedule of May/June release dates for upcoming COVID – 19 products can be found here.
