Asian turbulence

Ed, I have maintained an interest in our northern neighbours for many years and I have not seen so much unrest in the region as now. Japan (our most stable and uncorrupted neighbour) has just been rebuffed by our untested Prime Minister apparently looking for support from a troubled Europe. China seems to have decided to present itself as top dog and Indonesia and Malaysia are letting bygones be bygones and joining forces, meanwhile ever corrupt Papua New Guinea is surely heading for a nasty fall, if its leaders can’t decry their personal greed and commit their efforts to building their nation into a cohesive international unit. I doubt very much if Australia would put too much effort in supporting their defence if one of those restless northern neighbours decide they take control as a buffer against a possible threat from the south.
