ANOTHER CHANCE FOR CLARENCE AND RICHMOND VALLEY COMMUNITY INFRASTRUCTURE UPGRADES

CLARENCE and Richmond Valley sports clubs and other not-for-profit groups seeking to grow have until 26 July to apply for a Nationals in NSW Government community infrastructure grant, Clarence Nationals MP Chris Gulaptis said this week.

“This is a really good program for community groups and socially-minded organizations. In the most recent round, it funded a roof for the arena of an equine club in Glenreagh ($120,000),” Mr Gulaptis said.
“Under previous rounds, the program funded the new health and wellbeing space at Grafton Public School ($120,000), the redevelopment of the Clarence Valley BMX Club in South Grafton ($139,000), and improvements for the Casino ‘Bulls’ Rugby Union Club grounds ($274,000).
“This time around, $12.5 million is available for new or upgraded facilities across sport and recreation, arts and culture, disaster readiness and community infrastructure.”
Infrastructure Grants can fund construction, alteration, renovation, completion and fit-out of buildings and community infrastructure. Examples include new or upgraded sports grounds, museums, theatres, and village halls.
The funding comes from the Nationals in NSW Government’s Club grants Category 3 Fund, which reinvests part of the tax collected from pokie machines into community projects.
