A large scale police operation took place in the Coffs Clarence Police District last week, as part of the annual Cannabis Eradication Program (CEP).

Last Wednesday the Maclean Showground became a base for the operations with the Police Polair helicopter landing on the Showground oval throughout the day to refuel, in between its aerial spotting operations around the Maclean and Lawrence areas.

A large quantity of cannabis plants which had been seized by the police up to that point were stacked up in the back of two trucks, parked at the back of the showground.

At the time of going to print, no official comment was available from the NSW Police Media.

This year’s cannabis haul saw some very large plants up to four metres in height, seized during the week long operation.
