Animals in need of a home at Happy Paws Haven

Cats and kittens for adoption this week

We get all cats vet checked prior to adoption to make sure that we comply to the standards required by any pet shop. We have adopted out well over 1200 cats over the last 12 years and only a very very small percentage having developed any illness asa result of the change in environment but now we are being extremely careful. All our animals are microchipped, immunised and desexed as soon as possible after they arrive.

Coralee arrived at the house of one of our volunteers not long after someone nearby had moved away. The volunteer asked around the neighbourhood whether anyone owned this beautiful tabby with a friendly nature and no-one came forward. So she bought it to Happy Paws Haven as she could not keep it herself, she had a Jack Russell who was not overly fond of cats! At first we thought she was pregnant but after a month of observation and being wormed we came to the conclusion that she was not. She is a quiet cat that just seems to blend in without causing any problems. She does not mind living in a multi-cat household and she would also be fine on her own. She is not a demanding in your face cat at all. She is just a lovely gentle cat who is extremely affectionate. She does have an eye that seems to be susceptible to irritation from dust and needs bathing with salt water occasionally

Joelene is one of the J-Team who was rescued with their mother as her owner was moving and was not able to take her and her kittens with her in early March 2016, not long before Easter. Mum has already found a home as have most of her kittens. Joelene is a beautiful mischievous affectionate loving semi long hair young torti cat with matching nature, just beautiful, loves her cuddles, will greet you at the door when you get home, very loving and playful as all young cats can be. She is desexed, chipped and immunised ready for her new home.

Morrisa was a young kitten when Miss Molly took her under her wing early 2017. She was found beside the road and bought to Happy Paws Haven. She was about the same age as Miss Molly’s kittens and has grown up to be beautiful affection and mischievous young cat with Miss Molly’s two beautiful babies, both of which found lovely homes. Morrisa is an unusual colour, being beautiful blue salmon tortishell. She has been desexed, micro-chipped, immunised and regularly wormed.

Dogs for adoption for this week

We get all dogs vet checked prior to adoption to make sure that we comply to the standards required by any pet shop. All our animals are microchipped, immunised and desexed as soon as possible after they arrive. All dogs are also tested to make sure that they do not have heart worm. We have rescued and adopted out well over 1300 dogs over the last 12 years.

Marg came to us very sick and so were her litter of pups, which are fully recovered and ready to be adopted. There are only two girls and a boy left. Marlon has had a leg operation, has his cast off and is playing normally with the other pups at long last. Dr Sam has seen him recently and is very happy with his recovery as he is gaining muscle tone rapidly. The operation will not impact his growth as it has been wired up in away that the bone will grow round the wire to give extra strength. All these pups have lovely natures, typical of a ridgeback cross. Dad we think was smaller than mother as they are fine boned and smaller feet. They are all typical affectionate playful well socialised pups, fine with people and other dogs. They are now ready to go to puppy pre-school and then onto obedience training. They have all been desexed, vaccinated, micro chipped and regularly wormed all ready for her their special new home.

My name is Patch but it used to be Tiger, I was surrendered because my owner was not allowed to keep me where he lived. He bought me to this lovely place with lots of dogs and puppies to play with which is great fun. I am a normal playful young dog but I have grown quite tall, not sure what breed I am but maybe great Dane, bull Arab and or mastiff anyway I have been told it is something big. I think I am the biggest dog at Happy Paws Haven. They sent me to the vet and I have had an operation and my needles so I am ready to go and play with people now and go to school. It would be good if someone could give me a home where there is another biggish dog to play with and some people too. I am what they call a gentle giant and I hope I have stopped growing now but I am not sure. I am approximately 14 months now.

Shelbie is a very lovely SharPei, she has a beautiful nature and gets on well with other dogs. She is house and crate trained now and has lived in a family environment so gets on well with children. Shelbie’s problem is chickens, she likes to play with them which is not good for their health and wellbeing. She is a normal playful young dog, she will sit when asked and generally comes when called but like all young children resists going to bed. She needs to be a part of the family and not shut outside in the back yard, she would benefit with having a playmate of the opposite sex but if there is someone at home most of the time this is not a necessity. She desexed, vaccinated, micro chipped and regularly wormed all ready for her special new home.
