A Trip to the tip during National Recycling Week

Capture   Each year Clarence Valley Council invites one of our schools along to the Grafton Regional Landfill and Resource Recovery Centre to see just what happens to all of our recyclables and waste. Students get to see close up the sorting process within our Materials Recycling Facility and our state of the art composting tunnels. They also take a bus tour around the landfill, or ‘tip face’ to see where all of our general waste ends up. A performance from the Greenhouse mobile waste education team is definitely a highlight of the day and the take home message is simple – recycle, reduce, reuse, regift, repair and refuse! If your school would like to have as much fun as students from Gulmarrad Public school did last year, please contact Clarence Valley Council on 6643 0200.
