A Rambling good Christmas time

When Clarence Valley Ramblers motorhome chapter celebrate their last weekend outing for the year, with their Christmas Party at Nana Glen. Early arrivals started rolling in from Tuesday, cleaning and decorating the area in the festive spirit. Thursday the temperature soared, but with the Gods looking after us, Friday was somewhat cooler. Morning tea is always a great time to catch up, and this year was no exception with many members returning after their travels. In the afternoon we held a raffle with a $50 fuel voucher up for grabs. The lucky winner was Margaret Moody a regular visitor. Happy hour was full of laughter and good cheer and then it was time for Secret Santa accompanied by Mrs Santa. Then it was time for our member’s concert. This has turned into a real fun night, although it is always a drama convincing members to step outside their comfort zone. We actually have some talent in our club who can sing or play musical instruments. Saturday after Tai Chi & a leisurely lunch, it was time to carve the meats in readiness for our Christmas feast. We played a huge game of Christmas inspired grocery grab, with many happy winners. We then held our club raffles with many lucky members winning several prizes. Then it was time for dinner. Our special guest arrived to perform for us and soon had the whole place in stitches. Errol Gray’s brand of wit is pure Aussie. With songs like ‘Campin at Yamba” & “Landmines” the audience wanted more & Errol certainly gave them one hell of a show. In amongst the laughter, the sweets were served & of course the usual calorie free items were in abundance. The ladies & some men had excelled themselves once again. Sunday we held our AGM with Bob returning as president, Carol back for the 10th year as secretary, and a new treasurer this year, after a few years break, with Don. Our next weekend is in February at Brooms Head for our 18th birthday celebrations. The committee would like to say a huge thank you to the staff at “The Independent” for your continued support throughout the year. We wish you all a very merry Christmas & a safe fun packed 2016.
