A journey through the Middle East

Yamba Day VIEW Club will be holding a fundraiser, movie, and morning tea at the top cinema Yamba (all going well with Covid restrictions).

This has been scheduled for Friday July 23, beginning with morning tea at 10.30am, tickets for this event will be on sale after July 9, when we hope to come out of current restrictions. After many attempts, we are keeping our fingers crossed that this fundraiser is able to go ahead. It is a chance to use those entertainment vouchers for a worthy cause, by helping disadvantaged families provide their children and the essentials needed to fit in at school.

These families are under more pressure during Covid, and your support would be most gratefully appreciated to assist the four children Yamba Day VIEW supports.

Please place in your diary, Saturday, September 11 for our fashion parade and high tea, with the hope after last years forced cancellation, that this year we are able to hold the event.

At the June luncheon our guest speaker, Leslie Pickering, took us on a journey through Egypt, Israel, Luxor, Palestine, how wonderful that she was able to fit this trip in between unrest and the virus. For those missing travel it was great to see, even if it was only on a screen, places of interest, with the history that the Middle East brings.

Our next luncheon (Christmas in July) on July 18, 10am arrival, (if all goes to plan), you must phone Lyn on 6646 3164 or 0448 688 558 so as I have catering numbers one week before the function.

Congratulations to Evie, Dianne and Shirley on receiving their 20-year service pin, a heartfelt thanks for giving of your time and effort to try and help children achieve a brighter future.

Please, any ladies who are ‘empty nesters’, looking for a group of caring like-minded ladies, interested in learning from guest speakers, or simply enjoying our little escapades for outings for lunch or coffee, do come along and sit in at one of our functions. We are a non-political, non-religious group supporting The Smith Family, assist disadvantaged Australian children, through the Learning for Life Programme.
