2GF vs Independent

cvreview-imagesc   2GF  Team Prepares To Restore Bbq Glory Clarence Valley Independent set to win …again! FOLLOWING last year’s dethroning at the hands of the Clarence Valley Independent scribes the DJs have been undergoing rigorous training in preparations for this year’s Jacaranda Breakfast on Thursday 3 November and are confident of returning to their former glory. The battle lines have been well and truly drawn with 2GF manager Paul Covington sending out a stern warning that his team is ready to fire. The 2GF Jacaranda Breakfast has been the traditional start to Jacaranda Thursday celebrations for more than 40 years and last year issued a challenge to the Clarence Valley Independent to cook and serve sausages and eggs better than the shock jocks. The Independent’s line was declared the victor by the punters. “Pete and Manu should come along and decide whose kitchen really rules”, Mr Covington quipped adding “we concentrated our line on quality rather than quantity so this year we need to go faster”. Once again local businesses have thrown their support behind the breakfast donating goods and services to help feed nearly 3000 early morning revellers. “We are cooking up sausages from Holiday Coast Meats and eggs from Mid Coast eggs on Elgas barbecues served on Tip Top bread from Woolworths,” Mr Covington said. “Farmer Lous will once again have a range of fresh fruit to sample and Norco has promised to wash it all down with fresh local milk.” Other helpers include Grafton Hire which has a team of men who arrive early to deliver and set up tables and other equipment necessary for the breakfast. The 2GF/Clarence Valley Independent Jacaranda Breakfast will fire up at 6am in Market Square on Jacaranda Thursday.
