Held in high esteem throughout the region for his entrepreneurial spirit, exceptional leadership skills, vision, and steadfast commitment to his local community, there were plenty of cheers when Nash Crofton was announced as the 2025 Clarence Valley Young Citizen of the Year at the 2025 Clarence Valley Citizen of the Year Awards last week.

Through his advocacy to deliver a platform to provide local singers and songwriters with an opportunity to gain valuable experience and boost their confidence on stage in front of a live audience, Mr Crofton founded Clarence Tunes, a home-grown music festival in 2022, and runs his own business, Crofton Productions, which specialises in audio engineering services.

Nominated by Debbie Newton and Mark Blackadder, who graciously accepted the award on his behalf, Mr Crofton is well respected for his dynamic and innovative creativity which is exemplified through his work within the Clarence Valley community.

In his acceptance speech, which was read by Ms Newton on his behalf, Mr Crofton acknowledged and congratulated his fellow nominees who he described as “just as deserving” of the award, and said he was “very proud to be recognised” for his contributions.

“I’m very honoured to live in this amazing area, and glad to be able to give back to the Clarence Valley Community,” he wrote.

“Thank you.”
