2021 Maclean Show a huge success

After welcoming a record number of visitors to the 2021 Maclean Show last week, President of the Maclean Show Society Brian Ferrie admitted that the bar has been raised for the 2022 Maclean Show.

Mr Ferrie was pleased to announce crowd numbers exceeded expectations with hundreds passing through the main gate, and although the number of rides and attractions on sideshow alley was down compared to previous years due to Covid-19 restrictions, visitors were delighted by the demolition derby, pavilion displays and traditional show fireworks.

“I was really pleased with the turnout the show received and it was good to see so many people come out and support the event,” Mr Ferrie said.

“A lot of work goes on behind the scenes to get everything ready for the show, and I think we’re all looking forward to running the event again next year.”

The official number of visitors was still being tallied at the time of publication.

Mr Ferrie humorously said the Maclean Show Society volunteers needed a day off to have a break from counting.

Maneesha Davis was named the 2021 Maclean Showgirl and Neeve Fischer was announced as the 2021 Junior Maclean Showgirl.

The Maclean Show Society is looking forward to welcoming another record crowd next year.
