2019 Footy tipping winner

It has been another great year for our footy tippers. The Independent has been running the NRL footy competition for the last 16 years and the interest and enthusiasm from the tippers has not waned at all.

We want to extend a thank you to the businesses that have participated over the years; to the winners and the losers we appreciate the fun and the banter it creates amongst our readers.

Congratulations to our winners for 2019, Lower River Tyre Centre; we may have to place a handicap on them next year to slow them down. The teams are so unpredictable these days it makes for very interesting week to week commentary.

Runner up this year was Hession’s Auto Parts from Grafton and Matt from the Bakehouse Yamba rounded out the three places. Wooden spooners were Clarence Valley Sheds.

Thank you again to all our other participants: Grafton Toyota, Donovan’s Auto Electrics, Yamba Fair Butchery, Yamba Mitre 10, Tyre Power Maclean, Bizprint, Coutts Crossing Tavern (who was our first time participant this year), MacLeods Furniture Grafton, Coastal Mechanical, St James School, and the Iluka Boat Shed.

To our wonderful sponsors The BP Bait Place, Lower Clarence Stationary, Maclean Cellars (which has now changed hands), Burson’s Auto Spares, we thank you.

Looking forward to seeing all again for the 2020 season.
